WILD FOX will be the first wholly inclusive purpose built adventure playground in Paignton.

At the moment there is an overgrown scrap of land next to Kings Ash Primary School and the Foxhole Community Centre.  It sits behind a row of derelict houses and the local ambulance station.

The school has gifted the land to the Wild Fox Community Development Project whose aim is to create a safe place for their children to play.

Right now there’s nothing there but two trees.

But the local people in the community have been working really hard to change this.  They have joined together, formed the Wild Fox Community Development Project and persuaded and cajoled people and organisations to help them.  They have entered the Sky television GREAT TREEHOUSE CHALLENGE competition which if they won would make a fantastic start for WILD FOX!

Sky wanted applications from communities prepared to build the ULTIMATE TREE HOUSE for the enjoyment and benefit of local people. The proposed use, design and construction of each tree house will be the responsibility of each individual community and the project has to be both

‘green minded’ and environmentally responsible.

After lots of hard work making sure there was real support from the community, Kay Elliott architects and Play Torbay an application with a fabulous design has been sent in

The BAY TREE – boats and beach huts in the sky

Play Torbay wish Lenny and all the Wild Fox Community Development group lots of good luck with the application.

The plan is to start the building of WILD FOX on PLAY DAY – 3 AUGUST 2011 – watch this space.
